Hellsing is centered around the Order of Royal Protestant Knights, who are descendants of the last members Abraham Van Helsing. Their principal mission is to protect the queen and the country of the undead and other supernatural forces of hell.
The organization is led by Fairbrook Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing, who inherited her responsibility as a director after the death of her father at age 12. Under her command are Walter C. Dornez, and Alucard, a powerful vampire that was captured by the family one hundred years ago. Later joins the ex-police Seras Victoria, who becomes Hellsing soldier when it is turned into a vampire by Alucard.
After an attack on the Hellsing headquarters by the Valentine Brothers, Sir Integra hires the mercenary group "Wild Geese" to replace the men lost in battle. The group leader is Captain Pip Bernadotte, a French playboy, who constantly pissed of Seras Victoria. There is little limit to the atrocities that characters can commit in the course of the series, ranging from rape, mutilation, torture and cannibalism. However, at the same time delves into the strength of character, kindness, and heroism.
